Important Points
1. INI can take up to 3 months for maximum results to take effect
2. Although the procedure works for a majority of patients, there are some patients for which a repeat procedure may be required

4. Patients with ED undergoing INI independently need to be evaluated for hormone deficiencies which if present, need to be corrected.

The study included male patients aged 40–70 years with vasculogenic erectile dysfunction. The results of the study revealed that the patients treated with onabotulinumtoxin-A (BTX) experienced a significant improvement in their sexual health inventory score (SHIM) and erection hardness score (EHS). The maximum improvement was observed at the 3rd month of treatment, with a statistically significant difference between the BTX-100 and BTX-50 groups in favor of BTX-100 at the 6th month post-treatment. The results from the first study, a phase I pilot randomized controlled trial, indicated improvements in various parameters such as mean peak systolic velocity, Sexual Health Inventory for Men (SHIM) score, and Erection Hardness Score. These outcomes suggest that BoNT-A could be favorable in the treatment of vasculogenic ED. Sciencedirect
The participants in the study were mostly men aged between 54 to 56 years old.
After undergoing the treatment, the group that received the actual treatment showed a significant improvement in their ability to have an erection hard enough for vaginal penetration. About 53% of these patients experienced this improvement. Moreover, these patients also reported better overall erections and enhanced ability to engage in sexual activity. One thing to keep in mind, is this is know by urologists as low-intensity shockwave therapy (LiSWT) for which there is some data to support its efficacy.
While some other places may be calling Radial wave therapy “shockwave” but it’s not really LiSWT.
Vasculogenic ED (Erectile Dysfunction) is a type of ED caused by problems with the blood flow in your penis. There are two main ways this can happen:
Blocked Arteries: This is like having clogged pipes in your house. Fatty deposits build up in the arteries that supply blood to the penis, making it difficult for enough blood to get there for an erection. This is similar to what happens in heart disease.
Leaky Veins: Normally, blood gets trapped in your penis during an erection, and then slowly drains out when you’re done. But with leaky veins, the blood drains out too quickly, making it hard to maintain an erection.
Vasculogenic ED is the most common type of ED overall. It’s often linked to other health conditions that affect blood flow, like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
